The Essence of Organic Viticulture in Our White Wines

At Celler Credo, we craft organic wines from the Penedès through respectful, low-intervention viticulture. We cultivate our vineyards without herbicides or chemical fertilisers, encouraging biodiversity and the natural balance of the soil.

This commitment to organic viticulture in the Penedès allows us to express the true character of each vineyard plot. The result is our range of organic white wines: fresh, honest and deeply connected to the landscape of the Penedès.

A Living Ecosystem: Beyond Organic Certification

At Celler Credo, we understand organic wine production in the Penedès as the outcome of a living landscape. For this reason, our viticulture goes beyond organic certification and is based on caring for each vineyard as its own ecosystem, where the connection between people and the land is essential to producing the wines that inspire us.

This approach to organic viticulture in the Penedès enables us to craft organic white wines that faithfully express the origin of each plot and the character of the territory.

Vintage White Wines Fermented with Indigenous Yeasts

At Celler Credo, we produce vintage wines that reflect everything that has taken place in the vineyard and across our landscape throughout an entire growing season.

We work exclusively with indigenous yeast strains isolated from our own vineyards. Discreet yet essential, our twelve different yeast strains are responsible for transforming grape must into wine, preserving the invisible bond between vineyard and winery.

We believe in wines with ageing potential. Each wine is crafted with care, precision and respect, following its own natural rhythms. In a world driven by immediacy, Celler Credo champions the value of time: the time that refines, softens and reveals the true potential of Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada and Malvasia de Sitges.

White Wines of Maximum Purity

At Celler Credo, winemaking is designed to capture the essence of the landscape. In producing our wines, we seek the vessel that best accompanies the transformation of grape must into wine and its subsequent ageing.

Noble, discreet and generous materials play a supporting role, adding value to the final work while preserving the essence of the landscape from which it originates: oak barrels, red and white clay amphorae, and glass demijohns.

Frequently Asked Questions About Celler Credo Organic White Wines

What distinguishes Celler Credo’s organic and biodynamic wines?

Celler Credo wines are distinguished by an approach to viticulture that places the land, biodiversity and time at the heart of the entire process. All vineyards are farmed organically and, in the case of the family-owned vineyards, also biodynamically, with the aim of preserving soil fertility and encouraging natural balance within the vineyard.

Organic viticulture means avoiding the use of synthetic herbicides and pesticides. Biodynamics goes one step further by encouraging natural ground cover and applying biodynamic preparations that help strengthen the vines and revitalise the soil. This approach seeks to enable the vineyard to express more authentically the landscape and unique characteristics of the Penedès.

The result is a collection of living, honest wines that are deeply rooted in their origin, reflecting both the diversity of the vineyard and the philosophy of Celler Credo: to craft organic and biodynamic white wines that remain faithful to the landscape from which they come.

Why choose organic white wines from the Penedès?

The Penedès is a region with a millennia-old winemaking tradition and ideal conditions for sustainable viticulture. Our organic wines benefit from the influence of the Mediterranean Sea and the protection of the surrounding mountains. Together with our limestone soils, these factors provide the white wines with exceptional freshness and remarkable ageing potential.

Do Celler Credo’s organic white wines contain sulphites?

At Celler Credo, we practise minimal-intervention viticulture, a philosophy that extends to our work in the winery. Our organic wines contain only a very small amount of sulphites, well below the maximum level permitted by European regulations for organic white wines (150 mg/l).

Our philosophy is based on reducing external additions to the absolute minimum. We prioritise the wine’s natural stability through the grape’s own acidity and meticulous vineyard work, producing transparent white wines that remain true to the character of their terroir.
