Can Credo's Larder

At Celler Credo, we understand agriculture from a holistic point of view. Our estates are not plots devoted exclusively to vines, but complex agricultural landscapes where vineyards coexist with century-old olive trees, beehives and aromatic herbs. The Can Credo Larder brings together these artisan treasures, made under the principles of organic and biodynamic farming, offering a gastronomic experience that reflects the biodiversity of the Alt Penedès.

Products of the land, born from respect for biodiversity

The products in the Can Credo Larder are born from a close attention to the land and a desire to make the most of, and give value to, the resources that coexist on our estate. Through artisan work and farming that does without herbicides and synthetic chemical fertilisers, we encourage the natural balance and biodiversity of the surrounding environment. Oil and honey: two different ways of connecting with the Penedès landscape, recovering knowledge tied to Mediterranean culture, and expressing, beyond wine, the natural richness of our territory.

Olivar de Can Credo: extra virgin olive oil from Montpedròs

On the Montpedròs estate, at 450 metres above sea level, we grow century-old arbequina olive trees that give rise to Olivar de Can Credo, a limited-production extra virgin olive oil. Made through cold extraction at low temperature, it purely expresses the character of the fruit and stands out for its silky texture, its balance and a naturally low acidity of 0.18º.

Mel de Can Credo: biodiversity among the vines

Mel de Can Credo honey comes from beehives set among our vineyards, made in collaboration with beekeeper David Álvarez. The bees feed on the diversity of flowers and aromatic plants found in the landscape, such as rosemary, thyme and lavender, while also contributing to pollination and to the biodiversity balance of the estate.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Can Credo Larder

Why does Celler Credo make products such as oil or honey?

Because we understand agriculture as caring for a diverse, living ecosystem, not as a monoculture. Bees play an essential role in pollination and in the natural balance of the estate, while olive trees are part of the agricultural mosaic that surrounds and accompanies our vineyards. Making oil and honey allows us to give value to this natural richness and to reinforce our commitment to the biodiversity and landscape of the Penedès.

How is the quality of Olivar de Can Credo Extra Virgin Olive Oil guaranteed?

Our oil comes from the hand-picking of arbequina olives from mountain vineyards at around 450 metres above sea level. It is cold-pressed, forgoing high yields in order to guarantee maximum aromatic purity and low acidity (0.18º). Grown without chemical insecticides or herbicides, the result is a limited-edition extra virgin olive oil with noble bitter notes and an exceptionally silky entry.

What makes Miel de Can Credo distinctive?

Miel de Can Credo is a 100% organic multifloral honey, made in collaboration with beekeeper David Álvarez. It comes from hives set in natural surroundings far from intensive farming, where the wellbeing and biological rhythms of the bees are respected. It is obtained through cold extraction by decantation and filtered only once, without undergoing pasteurisation, so as to preserve its natural characteristics as fully as possible.
