“Only 9,5% alcohol, it can be a fun, informal aperitif wine; it’s very light and subtle—some would call it “vegetal water”.

Volaina has strong varietal character with crisp acidity and a good palate. It’s made from organic, hand-harvested grapes from two vineyards in Pla de Manlleu, one of the highest areas in Penedès. One is known as Els Pinyers (owned by winegrower Jaume Bargans); the other, Sant Miquel (owned by winegrower Jaume Nin).
Volaina is the result of a shared commitment of Celler Credo and the Granollers Natural Science Museum to research and raise awareness of the important role butterflies play in the ecosystem, as biondicator of climate change, pollinators and as a food source for other species.
